Experience of project management and evaluation - he was National Director for 3 years of a Government programme in initial teacher training (enterprise education) and was project evaluator for 5 years of a major programme in the north west, funded by the North West Regional Development Agency entitled Grow Your Future Workforce.

Most recently Head of Community Development with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust - leading on developing policies and strategies for community engagement with reference to Every Child Matters, Community Cohesion, Extended Schools, the Children's Plan and 21st Century Schools.

Wide experience in the writing of educational strategies, business plans and policies, for the public, private and voluntary/third sector.

International experience in South Africa, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Central and Eastern Europe - enterprise, entrepreneurship and school-community partnerships.
